From-completion recurrence

Repeat a task after you complete it, not after the old due date.

A fixed repeating reminder assumes you always finish on time. Again can start the next interval when you tap Done, so a late haircut or filter change does not make the following reminder arrive too soon.

The difference is one date.

Suppose a filter is due every six months on 1 January, but you replace it on 20 January. A fixed calendar repeat keeps 1 July. A from-completion loop schedules 20 July. The interval stays useful because it follows the work.

Again calls this a Loop. The completion is saved in history, the next due date is calculated, and the item returns to the right place in the list. One tap does all three.

Loop Completion changes the schedule

Tasks that fit this kind of repeat

Personal care

Haircut every 5 weeks, dental cleaning every 6 months, or a prescription review every 12 weeks.

Home maintenance

AC filter every 6 months, descaling a coffee machine every 8 weeks, or checking smoke alarms every 3 months.

Occasional admin

Reviewing subscriptions every 4 months or checking a backup every 6 weeks, whenever the last review happened.

When a fixed date is still right

Rent on the first, a weekly meeting, and a tax deadline belong to the calendar. Again supports recurrence from the due date too. Choose it when being late should not move the next scheduled occurrence.

More than one kind of repeat

Use Dailies for a midnight reset and Tallies when you only want to count. The full guide compares all three modes and explains reminders, calendar mirror, history, sleep, and variations.
